Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items - see more - allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item upgrader, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used.
