Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Leveling

Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item upgrader kit is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrade an item, the base item will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. Requirements

The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
