Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

Components

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
