The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrades upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item Level Upgrade and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
