Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item level upgrade. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

upgrade item components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using the Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade (check this site out) system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades the equipment they have it will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. Requirements

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses listed above.
