The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include getting rid of any clutter or toys it may encounter. In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with amazon robot vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep an area.
