Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

Components

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of an item will be available at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.
