Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be used.
