Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

Components

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item upgrader kit it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
