Upgrading gear increases its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the gear's tiers, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.

These items can be obtained by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a price. Additionally, players can acquire these stones by completing daily contracts.

To upgrade gear players must first locate the appropriate item and then click the "level up" button. The menu will appear that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being leveled up as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to do so. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor requires only one Growth Stone.

After deciding on the item to upgrade, the player must select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. Leveling

Some items benefit from upgrading less for their increased stats and more for the fact that it allows players to get the most value from a flawless roll on the item. For instance, a flawlessly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly valued in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.

When you select an upgrade component that you want to put into an item the game will display an open window that displays the required requirements. This includes the type of item (either Weapon or Armor) and the level of the item, the upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
