Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item upgrading's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at once to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item scales depending on its rarity and.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through many different methods, including using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give an overall bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of either.
The number of upgrade components required for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item. However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant, or trading them with other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods at all.
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective instrument for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain range. This is shown on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the product you are enchanting.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also apply the glyph on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at once. This can be helpful for players who are taking lots of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded to increase damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item as well as its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be decreased by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final level. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems since they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it with money or food items that would allow players to make changes to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to change their race in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item level upgrade. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of upgrading the stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade that increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. Additionally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When you upgrade items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a better roll will result from glyphs, but there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a unique item type, then it is likely to receiving a higher level.
Upgrading items can be costly, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item upgrader kit will depend on its base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests in order to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to a rare or exceptional item will have a chance to get the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
