GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles, which include high-floor and lower-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate a variety of upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows the best battery pack placement and lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks have a single interior wall structure and higher insulation than traditional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior cargo capacity and a top payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission passenger and cargo transportation.

GreenPower has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to seamlessly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.

We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block wind and road noise while driving along the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on torque and cruise control, while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are green power mobility scooters any good fun to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for those who have never driven an electric power scooters vehicle before.

GreenPower provides a variety of other EVs, including a multipurpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit vanpool, bus, or a paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric scooter green cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it goes on its demonstration tour in later this year. We'll be sure to provide more information on this innovative EV!
