Some double as a moses' basket.

What is a bedside crib?

A bedside co sleeper cot crib (also called bassinet or co-sleeper) is a baby crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your infant to sleep safely next to you. It is a safe method of co-sleeping, which does not increase the risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It can also help you bond with your new baby.

The cots come with an end that can be adjusted so that you can reach your baby easily at night to comfort and feed them. This is especially helpful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many are also foldable or portable, so you can bring them along on trips and use them as a sleeping solution for newborns who aren't yet ready to move to a full-sized cot.

Find a crib that has a breathable mattress, and a protective cover that will protect your baby from stains. You may also want to purchase some baby-safe accessories like the blanket or teether.

If you're looking for a more long-term solution Some cribs have conversion kits that let you convert them into a toddler bed or a cot when the time is right. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition a lot easier. Some come with a removable section at the top that can be turned into an infant bed. Some can be used with either an adult bed that is standard or a high-rise bed. This is an excellent choice for families that intend to travel frequently or switch between bedrooms at night. You should also think about how big your bedroom is to ensure you can fit the crib in comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser which can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib made by the English brand Joie is a wonderful addition to their line of high-quality products for infants. The idea behind the product is to allow parents to bond with their infants while they sleep side by side without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper has features that help make bonding between parents enjoyable, safe and easy.

One of the key features is a smooth rocking motion that can be activated with the push of an button. It can help soothe baby to sleep with a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their natural sleeping pattern. This is perfect for older toddlers or babies who struggle to settle down. It can also aid with digestive issues such as reflux and colic.

The crib can also be fixed to the side of the bed with an attachment strap and clip. This makes the crib very solid and secure and allows you to sleep soundly without worrying that your child will slide off into the middle. The rounded shape of the cocoon has soft padding on the sides as well as double mesh windows on both ends. This allows for airflow while ensuring your baby's safety.

The included mattress is comfortable and firm. It also is covered in a washable material. The crib is easy to assemble and disassemble with the lightweight aluminum frame that makes it extremely portable. The four wheels that lock are covered with rubber to ensure that the crib doesn't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. It is easy to clean using cloths that wipe clean and is easy to put in a backpack, making it perfect for long-term stays away from home.

The TuttiBambini CoZee air

Created to be a safe next-to-me crib from birth to six months old, this premium model features rocking bars and castors to allow for ease of movement. The airflow mattress is a premium model that provides an incredibly comfortable sleeping surface, while the ventilation panels keep your baby cool. There are 6 different height settings including an incline setting to help with reflux and congestion.

Unlike some bedside cot mattress cribs which can be difficult to clean due to their incessant stream of dribble and snot and snot, the Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir has a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be removed for machine-washing. It also comes with a top bar that can be easily lowered to accommodate feedings at night without the need to juggle zips.

Anna found the CoZee to provide a safe, comfortable sleeping space for her baby. It was a pleasure to not move like other models, so she wasn't woken up in the night trying to soothe her baby to feed. She also loved that the side was lowered so she didn't need to reach over her partner to carry the baby out to feed her at night.

The CoZee is available in oak and charcoal and was a stylish addition to the bedroom. It's more of an expensive piece of furniture than many of the other cribs that we've tested, which can appear quite utilitarian. It's also light at just 11kg. It also comes with a carry case so you can bring it with you on vacation or when moving house. The only additional items you'll have to purchase are a fitted waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and images are simple to follow when you first open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is a bassinet for infants designed to make parents feel closer to their infant while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down, and moved through three different slide positions to fit beside the parent's bed or in the corner, to ensure that the infant is always within reach. The breathable mesh siding allows air to flow through and lets you glance at your baby. And you can stow more pajamas and other supplies in the large storage basket underneath.

The Iora is a smaller bedside cot crib crib that folds flat. It also comes with a travel bag so it can be carried anywhere. It was easy to move around from room to room, and our mum testers felt it was the perfect size for a bedside crib. They also liked the large storage basket, that is ideal for storing spare bedding or nappies.

This is a great option for parents who wish to co-sleep but don't want to share their bed. Also, if one of the partners suffers from mobility issues such as back pain or arthritis. Our mum testers love the convenience of being able to access their baby in the Iora, and that it has an adjustable reflux incline that can help with gas.

Our mums appreciate the fact that it meets NICE guidelines, which are to place the baby in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys, pillows, etc). The mattress is also a good firm and comfortable for the baby and sheets are easy to find. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
