World of Warcraft - item upgrading (mouse click the up coming document)
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a good thing, but it can also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms, it will boost its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item level upgrade and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's Best item upgrade to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets to let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide an immediate effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them using a craft table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
When a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate in the event that you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
There were a few changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant, such as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. You can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the older one, and have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for example an earring or cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players should take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade item will destroy the old trinket until it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
