WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade (visit socialbookmark.stream now >>>) by 3. Each upgrade item also boosts an unspecified substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from another set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrades in the proper steps and routes.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's Best item upgrade to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
