Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades allow players to increase the item level of equippable items such as weapons or armor, as well as trinkets above a certain threshold. They can be done at any item upgrader NPC using the appropriate currency.

There are some sets that come with set bonuses that add effects when Link is wearing the full set. A script that checks the requirements of an item's upgrade before allowing the item to be upgraded is an alternative option. This is a great option for systems with a small number of upgradeable items and a straightforward upgrade dependency. An example of this is a sword that can be upgraded from Sword +2 to Sword +2. Costs
Upgrading gear can increase its physical strength, spell power and health (for armor and rings) or add a bonus effect while it's in your inventory. You can obtain upgrade elements through crafting or purchase them from vendors. They can also be looted or dropped from other players, on the Trading Post, or as an incentive. Upgrade components can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets. They can also be connected to tools for gathering. However, most upgrade components cannot be salvaged or replaced, unless by using an Upgrade Extractor. The only exception is glyphs. These are salvageable using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or the Ascended Salvage tool.
Based on the type of item upgrader kit, upgrading it could cost Dilithium or gold. A lot of upgrades require Flightstones or crests. The amount of crests and Flightstones needed to upgrade an item varies on the gear's level and the maximum upgrade level is established by Blizzard. The upgrade to the highest level can be costly particularly if you're upgrading PvE gear.
