Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading (click the next document) is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upp your gear effectively.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. The bonus is based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons better. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.

The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to increase the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged to give additional benefits. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the chance of upgrading its target, and an upgrade boost will increase the attack or defense attribute of a weapon or armor.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item upgrader mod by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display an upgrade component list that the item upgrader mod can be upgraded to. You can also make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a different experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item receives when it is upgraded with that component. Organic components, for example have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the experience multiplier for the next rank of equipment or weapon, and then move to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they can get. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade for tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items which share bonuses. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats are increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which may be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a greater defense base than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they're not always superior to a higher-level Runeword.

If the item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled a few times and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, but the upgraded item will come with various bonuses. Upgrading can be done through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

If a player has enough rerolling tokens, they can reroll any item that they have acquired during the game. If an upgraded item is to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for the version that is level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for small amounts of in-game currency. However, they are not refundable. The new item will offer the same bonus features as the original, but the stats will differ.

In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any item by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification from a weapon to an armor, or vice versa. Its base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear.

Players can also boost the item level of any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, the item type and number of crests. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.

An upgrade can boost its power, but it will reduce its effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to make them more effective. One player may wish to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modification (% block chance or FHR) to see what else it can be.

The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items are time-consuming and costly to acquire, and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only options left are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can increase the level of the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think it was meant to be a way to add value to rare items, but as gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded one level up, you'll usually replace the item before it gets old enough. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets since the power of the gem will outweigh any increase in ilvl.

When you click the upgrade button on an item, you will see a small window with the item's upgrade template and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the level of the item. The costs will vary between the armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that can be added to an upgraded item and also the current base ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For example the weapon that has an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8%.

In addition to the base ilvl boost it will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will be able to sustain after it is leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all other items and armor get these same stats when upgraded. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor like tiaras or circlets.
