Upgrade materials can be collected by players as they provide clear content. They can then be used to upgrade or replace an item. Each item requires a specific type of upgrade material. Weapons require Destruction stones while armor items require Guardian or Harmony Leapstones. The materials are named after when the item is upgraded, such as Stone Fragments become Stones and Harmony Shards become Life Shards.
It is important to upgrade items in order to improve a character's performance. However, it is also important to think about how much it will cost. Each time an item is upgraded, it costs an amount of gold that could be better spent on a new piece of gear. This is why it's Best item upgrader to upgrade the most important items in any given scenario.
This usually means that you first upgrade the weapon followed by the legs and chest and finally the helm. If the player can afford it, upgrading trinkets should also be considered in this stage to increase their potential for procs. Sets

For instance, if you purchase the full Phantom Armor set you will get +8 defense (compared to the usual +3 defense offered by most gear). Some sets can only be obtained by completing certain tasks or by purchasing them at the Auction House.
It is possible to receive Set Bonuses for multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously. If you have the entire Kestra's Descent Set and the corresponding pieces of Twinblade of Shadow, you will be able to get the version with the + set's bonus if you soul match the two sets.
Set Bonuses remain the same, regardless of the equipment to which they are connected level up. If an item is exemplarized too low, then the set bonus won't work.
Set bonuses
