World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrades to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good thing, but it can also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. This can boost the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circling arrows in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get from every point of health you possess therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade item the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is beneficial to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the Item Upgrader Mod's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. For instance the splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item upgrader mod). The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the older one, and have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
When the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that won't replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
