Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and weapons. They provide an extra bonus or effect while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors or other players, looted or obtained as an incentive, or even created with crafting materials. Upgrades can have cosmetic effects in addition to offering bonus points for attributes.
Upgrade components include inscriptions enhancements and infusions. They are generally not accessible for general use, and can only be applied to ascended equipment or some non-ascended weapons from the Factions campaign. You can recover infusions and inscriptions from equipment by using an Infusion Extractor Device, or by salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage Tool.
In contrast to other upgrade items Phoenix Boxes are able to be traded while still attached to the item that they are upgrading, and are able to be used again after being salvaged. These upgrade items are the most effective method to increase the quality of your the quality of armor and weapons without spending Dilithium in the sense that they increase the item's chance of receiving a quality upgrade by two times.
Upgrade components can be added to an item upgrader however, the original one is destroyed (except for legendaries and ascended equipment). Only upgraded items with an identification level of 0 or more can have upgrade components added to them. If you upgrade the weapon already equipped with a suffix or a prefix upgrade the item will be named as it appears on the game screen (for example adding an Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor makes it Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player can own up to 3 upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a great accessory to any item. They offer unique advantages and boosts. Certain glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, thereby increasing its effectiveness. These glyphs can be obtained through dungeons, and some can be found in certain World Tier 3 areas. It's important to remember that glyphs can't be used on a character that hasn't created an area of root dungeons with the same depth.
To make use of a Glyph you first have to create it using components, and then connect them using anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths within the same layer. If you don't want create the glyph from components, you can build it by combining paths and anchors. Drag an element in the direction of an element highlighted to hold it into place.
Certain glyphs require certain requirements to be fulfilled, such as 25 Dexterity in a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to activate, which can be difficult to achieve. Some glyphs have a radius that increases with each level.
Glyphs can be used on many different weapons and items, with the exception for those belonging to a specific class. Some of these glyphs require conditions for instance, having a certain number of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a specific location on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph adds an 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has the chance of 15% to make the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be used on limited tools, such as the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. Adding these glyphs will be counted towards the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most common glyphs are the attack glyphs, which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat value. They are especially beneficial for ranged classes like Warriors and Rogues. The Exploit Glyph renders enemies who strike the Hero vulnerable to damaging effects.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to reroll results that are rolled during an Action. They are destroyed after the reroll has occurred. Reroll tokens can be obtained through a variety of ways, including through raids, dungeons, and skirmishes. They can also be bought at the shop or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons and trials, since they allow players to play a reroll of rewards from the chest at the end.
Recycle point values are provided for items at level 1. The upgrade gauge will grow by a certain amount of points each time you recycle an item. This value is based on both the item's rarity and level. In addition, the upgraded Item Upgrader Kit won't keep its level after rerolling and the cost for recycling an upgraded item increases with its level.
Alternately, players can use reroll tokens in order to make an upgrade item rerollable, but this will not bring the item back to its original state or give it its original statistics. This is useful for players who want to reroll an item or piece of equipment that they don't like but still want to keep in their collection.
Three different kinds of upgrade coins are available in the game: Reroll, randomly generated and upgrade. Each type has several subtypes. For example, reroll tokens are available in three levels: enhanced, rare and legendary. Each requires an item from the respective level to produce a new item with that quality.
To make use of rerolling tokens you must select "Reroll Token" by right-clicking on the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Select the type of token you want to use. The tokens that are available include Item, Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. Utilizing an Item token will produce an entirely new Item of any type. A Weapon or Misc token will create a brand new weapon from the same faction.
There is also a chance that the item could be upgraded into a new item with an increased level and the same extra stats. This could occur if the item upgrader mod been placed in the Pool that is not droppable or was transferred to it as part of a franchise card.
