World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage for each time it is upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item upgrader kit's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade item using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following a reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When a player improves an item the original item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can cause the item upgrader to revert to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item upgrader and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
