World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already own. This can be done by any item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element to protect him from danger. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in a variety of ways to improve its defence capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to protect the person or animal from physical injury or harm whether from physical assault or from a range of environmental and activity hazards. Historically, armour was mostly made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also utilized, especially in military applications such as heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection, and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted until you own a different piece of gear with the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have all the components needed to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you need in many places throughout Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. These will generally be marked with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol and can be found in large quantities as you progress through the game. Although they can appear randomly, there's an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade components will trigger an adventure that rewards players with more.
It is also important to note that, even though the level of protection provided by each upgrade is different but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armour will give you a significant defense boost that will protect you from all kinds of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you'd like to make your guns unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. These upgrades can boost damage or alter the performance of the weapon to match your particular build. They also allow new attachments like unique enchantments, different types of ammunition, as well as aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon must also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade item to be effective and the majority of weapons can only take one upgrade at a time.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the globe and even from the hands of enemies, or they can be purchased from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be incorporated into armor, weapons trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or other effect while they're in use. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mixture of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the stats of a base weapon and improving its scaling with other stats. They can be found from enemies who drop them in the open world, bought from certain vendors or found as drops in combat.
Two NPCs can enhance your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you're not likely to replace in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your chest, shoulders feet, hands, and shoulders in case you intend to play an asymmetrical build. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. The same goes for Armour Reforges, with certain types being better than others.
Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one magic item at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, but can have additional benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. These are usually weapons, but they can also be armors, shields and cloaks, as well as potions. They can also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.
The majority of magic items enhance their capabilities. This can make them more useful to players or help them to overcome a difficult situation. A weapon that contains some special substance could offer, for instance, additional damage against a specific kind of enemy. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a point at which they are likely to encounter the same type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning or slashing damages from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee fighters, or any character who wants to avoid the expense and hassle of buying an armor.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers which allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their class list. This is useful for a character who has trouble maintaining their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an index determined by the number of Intelligence points used.
Other enchanted items might allow the player to change their appearance, or create an entirely new appearance. These items can be especially beneficial for characters who are forced to leave their home or in a place in which they are not welcome. A magical item may grant them invisibility or make them invisible to anyone, excluding the person they choose to.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that does not fall into the categories of Armor or Clothing and have a variety of capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons they are not a single utility item that can conflict with another. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that activate when the user presses an action button or activates a skill.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the normal inventory, players can also unlock additional useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to make them more effective.
The majority of utilitarian items give players an advantage in navigation or enhance the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, crafted by an Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, created by an Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other utility items, such as Writs and Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give players an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utility item upgrade at the beginning of the campaign, and an additional slot can be obtained through the use of certain types armor or completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is equipped in the main slot for grenades.
