World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to raise the item level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This boosts the stats of that gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of weapons, armor and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency that is appropriate players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Upgrades to items can be expensive, particularly when it is related to armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade track you select, each level increase can cost Crests or Valorstones. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who don't have the resources or aren't willing to grind them.
