Greenpower designs, builds and distributes a full suite of low-floor and Electric wheel scooter high-floor electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses, school cargo buses, buses for cargo and shuttles.

EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy- and Are green power mobility scooters Any good medium-duty electric vehicles, including models with lower and high floors. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate many different body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clean sheet of paper, which allows for optimal placement of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 have a single interior wall structure and higher insulation than traditional trucks, allow for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a top payload-to-range ratio for zero emission passenger transport and goods.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging at 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours. We found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does a great job of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged in about three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the cruise control and torque and the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for anyone that has never been in an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric power scooters vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means they will be eligible for federal assistance in transit. Stay tuned for updates as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year.
