EV Star

greenpower electric scooters Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, which include models with lower and high floors. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and can be adapted to meet a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows the best battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.

We were able to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours, and found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress the sound of traffic and wind driving on the highway. It glides effortlessly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is quite quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged in about three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control, as well as handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower offers several other eVehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric vehicles. greenpower mobility will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration, which is looking to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Check back for updates as we follow the AV Star on its demonstration tour later in the year. We will provide more details on this exciting EV.
