World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item upgrader.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to return to its initial state which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
