WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the Item Upgrade (Www.Metooo.Es) at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will be less expensive, even if they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. They can make use of Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency that is available to all, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades on specific Best item upgrader levels. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
