WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the item upgrader kit's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the Item Level Upgrade slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain item level upgrade level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
