Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades in equipment can add a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor more effective. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that contains the components or by using high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when you remove them from the item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be used to boost the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can be made for extra bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chance of upgrading its target, while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense capabilities of a weapon.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item gets when it upgrades with the component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience Each item also comes with an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon of 10th level. However, the most commonly used weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items which share the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. In subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a bit more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item with an additional stats will be increased randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the damage base of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for a higher maximum defence roll than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always superior to a high-level Runeword.
If you're upgrading an item that comes with a bonus, the item can be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, however the new item upgrades will have additional bonuses. Upgrades can be made through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also provide a special reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player is able to roll any item upgrader kit they have acquired during the game, provided they have enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. If an item level upgrade is rerolled, it will be replaced by a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens are available in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item will have the same extra bonuses as the original, but the stats will also differ.
Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who have the gear.
Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade components and communicating with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade item track, the item type and the number of crests. For weapons, each step will add five percent to the damage.
An upgrade can boost its power, but it will also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to balance the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading and some will require to be upgraded to reach their potential. A player might want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modification (% block chance or FHR) in order to see what else it can be.
The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play. The only alternatives are to spend money or grind extensively. This is why rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can pick to increase the level of the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was designed to increase the value of rare and expensive items. However, since the majority of gear is replaced fairly quickly, and it can only be leveled up one level, you will usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will display the template for the item, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on weapons and armor, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item level upgrade and it also lists the current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage for lvl. For example weapons with an 8% upgrade decrease will reduce its ilvl by 8 - 8%.
The item will receive upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item will receive as it gets leveled up can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, get these stats when they level up. The value of these additional stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a piece of armor or weapon is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other armor pieces like circlets and Tiaras.
