What is a bedside cot bedside?
A bedside cots crib (also known as bassinet or co-sleeper) is a small infant crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your baby to sleep in a safe environment with you. It's a method of co-sleeping that is safe and does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) similar to bedsharing and can help you build a bond with your newborn.
The cots usually have a side that is able to be lowered, so you can easily reach your infant at night to feed and comforting. This is particularly useful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many of them are mobile or foldable, which means you can take them on your travels and use them as a sleeping option for babies who aren't quite ready to move to a larger cot.
Look for a crib with a breathable mattress, and a protective cover that will shield your baby from stains. It is also advisable to pick up some baby-safe add-ons such as a blanket, a teether and a soft toy.
If you are looking for a more long-term solution cribs are available with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot at the time that is right. This is great for extending their life span and making the transition smoother. Some have a removable top section that can be converted into an infant bed, and some can be used on either the regular or high-rise adult bed. This is a good choice for families who plan on traveling frequently or transferring between bedrooms throughout the night. Consider the dimensions of your room to make sure you can be able to fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser which can be used to create an incline to accommodate babies with reflux.

This is ideal for older babies and toddlers who struggle to settle. It can aid in digestive issues such as reflux and colic.
The crib can be locked in place once the rocking is done to stop it moving and can also be secured on the side of your bed using a strap and clip attachment. This makes it extremely solid and secure, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful night's rest without having to worry about your baby rolling off into the middle of the room. The rounded cocoon shape has softly cushioned sides and double mesh windows at both ends to allow for plenty of airflow while making sure your baby is safe.

The premium airflow mattresses offer a comfortable sleeping surface, while ventilation panels help keep your baby cool. Anna discovered that the CoZee was a safe and comfortable sleeping space for her infant. It was a pleasure to not move like other models so she wasn't disturbed at night while trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also loved that the sides of the chair lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to lift the child for nighttime feedings.
The CoZee comes in oak or charcoal and is a stylish option for any bedroom. It's more stylish than other cribs we've tried, which are often quite utilitarian. It is also relatively lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carrying case, so you can take it on holiday or when moving house. The only extras you require are a waterproof cover and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and pictures are easy to follow when you first open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bedside bassinet that helps parents feel connected to their infant while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and shifted through three different slide positions to fit beside the parent's bed or in the corner, so that the baby is always in reach. The breathable mesh siding allows air to flow through and lets you glance at your little one. And you can stow additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket underneath.
In contrast to other bedside cot used crib options Iora is a standout among other bedside cribs. Iora folds flat and comes with a carry-on bag to allow it to be taken wherever. Our mum testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed that it was a suitable size for a bedside crib to cot cot, not too big or small. The large storage basket is ideal for storing extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great choice for parents who want to sleep in a co-sleeping arrangement but don't want to share their own beds, or whose partners might be suffering from mobility issues, such as back problems or arthritis. Our mom testers are thrilled with the ease with which they can access their baby in the Iora, and it also has an option to tilt the bed upwards to aid in reducing gas.
Our moms are thrilled that the mattress adheres to NICE guidelines. These include placing the infant in a Moses basket or crib on its own without blankets, toys or pillows. They also claim that the mattress is comfortable and firm for the baby and easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as other smaller bedside cribs, though, so if you want something lighter and easier to move around, think about one of the other options on our list.
