WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item upgrades level by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade (helpful resources) upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgrades upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will display the preview of an Best item upgrade's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade item their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
