World of Warcraft - item upgrades upgrading (just click the next post)
item level upgrade upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade items to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button in the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you get out of each point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain in question you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. For example the splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The potion table can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. The same applies to using a potion within a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion' effect is extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. In contrast to other upgrades for items trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once the old ones are no longer useful, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying a new one.
