best compact double stroller twin pushchair Stroller For Newborns
A double stroller is essential if you're expecting twins or have two children of similar ages. The best ones provide numerous ways for your children to ride, including side-by-side seating and the ability to attach a rider's board.
Strategist writer Lauren Ro's favorite is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono, which adapts seamlessly as your family grows. It can accommodate two infant car seats and a toddler car seat which makes it an ideal choice for twins from birth.
Bugaboo Donkey
This is the top double stroller for families looking for a stylish, side-by-side double stroller. It's a bit bigger than other Bugaboo strollers, but it feels solid and built to last. It has a movable handlebar that retracts and extends easily. It also has a great reach, so it is easy for my 6'1 husband to push, even when loaded.
Seats are comfortable and can be placed in a way that one child is on top of the other or so that children face each other. The seats can recline independently of each other. The canopies cover both fabric seats should you wish to. They're not a lot of ventilation which makes them be like an oven on hot days. There is no peek-a-boo to see your children.
One of the most distinctive features of this stroller is its capacity to adapt to your family's needs from a single seat (Mono mode) all the way up to a double side-by-side stroller. This is the only double stroller convertible to do this. It can also be used with another car seat or bassinet for babies.
It is easy to navigate on smooth surfaces and handles slopes and steps well. It can be difficult to maneuver through crowded stores and restaurants. It is also difficult to fold, especially when the seats are connected. It is still fairly compact though, and it can be tucked away easily.
There is an additional storage bin that fits on the frame to the front seat in mono mode. It is great for grocery shopping and other things. The main storage basket underneath the seats is massive and can accommodate up to 100 pounds, which is more than any other stroller on this list!
Uppababy Vista V2
This stroller is among the top twin strollers for newborns. It can be used with a variety of bassinets and infant car seats (adapters sold separately) and can be used as a double running buggy stroller straight out of the box. The Vista Upper and Vista Lower adapters allow you to use two infant car seats at the same time.
The V2 is an improved version of the original Vista. The toddler seat is half an inch higher, the footrest is more space and the canopy comes with a zip-out fabric extender that gives extra coverage. The harness has also been modernized - it doesn't require replaced, making it easier to adjust.
The stroller is equipped with big wheels (8" in front and 11.5" in back) and a strong suspension system that lets it handle any terrain. The front wheels are rubber, which makes them ideal for navigating through rocks, gravel and cobblestones. While the rear wheels have more tread to tackle the grassy hills and sidewalks.
A child's bicycle can also be attached to the front of a stroller. This is a great solution for parents who do not want to use an infant car seat. If you have a child old enough to stand and walk, the Vista stroller can fit a third child with its piggyback board accessory.
The Vista is easy to use and set up, though it can take some time to remove all of the protective packaging. The instructions are simple to follow and there is also a YouTube video available for assistance if you require more information.
thule double stroller Urban Glide 3
The Thule Urban Glide 3 is the newest version of this popular stroller that is designed to attract modern families that value style, sustainability and adventure. It's got exciting new features like a built-in foot rest and an updated reclining seat, which promises unbeatable comfort for children during long jogging and walks. Its sleek, agile design enhances its maneuverability.
It's extremely light, making it easy to push and swift to accelerate on the road. Its suspension can cope with sudden changes in surface (such as pavement to grass) and the oversized tires are able to withstand any terrain. It can easily climb kerbs and turn in tight spaces such as city streets. It's also easy to navigate narrow sidewalks and crowded parks.
The new Urban Glide 3 is a superior jogger that gives parents an abundance of comfort and convenience. This includes an oversized canopy that offers great sun protection, a convenient peekaboo window, a top-quality harness system and a handbrake integrated with a perfectly in-tuned lever. It also has ideal storage, including in-seat storage pockets and a huge cargo basket that can hold up to 15 pounds and comes with the zip-top cover.
This Thule jogger includes a bassinet that is suitable for strolling infants, and a double version that can fit two children. It is compatible with car seat adapters so you can use your child's infant carrier, and it comes with a one-handed fold to make it easy to transport or store. It also comes in a green option, using dyed solution-dyed fabrics in black colors to reduce water consumption.
Cortina Together
Cortina Together is designed for families that are growing and provides parents with the option of seating to meet the preferences and needs of every child. The double stroller's standard stroller seats feature reclining backrests and independent canopies. They're also engineered to accept one of Chicco's top-rated KeyFit or KeyFit 30 infant car seats in the front seat and rear seat (car seat sold separately) with the exclusive click-in attachment without the need for additional bars and straps, like other models that require.
A large, zip-up basket at the rear provides ample storage space for the equipment. The handle is padded to allow for dad or mom. The suspension and wheels of the tandem double stroller ensure an easy ride on all terrains. The 1-touch linked rear breaks with toe-tap activated make stopping simple.
In our Strollers & Multiples lab tests, Cortina Together scored well for its ease of use. This metric is based on how simple it is to fold and set up the stroller and adjust the safety harness as well as the snack tray, engage and deengage the brakes, and lift and carry the stroller like you would put it into a trunk, and for compatible double strollers, install and remove the infant car seat.
There are some downsides to this model, though. First, it's heavy. It weighs in at 36.6 pounds when fully loaded which is on the extreme end of our metric, and is heavier than the average for this category of strollers. It also has limited visibility when a car-seat is installed in the rear. Additionally the front tray release is sometimes difficult to operate, especially after prolonged use. Despite these issues, we believe that this is a great stroller to have for your family.
Jeep double Seat Stroller Stroller
The Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller is an affordable, lightweight stroller that's perfect for families with two children. Its front swivel-lock wheels rotate to move on flat surfaces and ensure stability on bumpy surfaces which makes it easy to travel wherever you'd like to go. It also comes with a compact umbrella fold that can be closed in a matter of seconds and can be set up to make it easy to transport. Its lightweight aluminum frame, foam handles and straps for carrying make it one of the easiest-to-lift double strollers in our tests.
This side-by-side stroller offers reclined seats that can be independently adjusted and foot rests for the best comfort for both children. The canopy is large enough to provide UPF 50 sun protection. It has a peekaboo window that allows to allow for easy monitoring. We wish the canopy was ventilated to allow for more airflow, however. We also weren't thrilled the fact that the cup holder is very high on the frame, which means you'll have to bend down to access it.
In our tipping test the Jeep fell over with only 39 degrees of angle, which is above average for a double buggy that converts to single stroller. It's also a little heavier than our top picks, but it does provide an adequate amount of storage space for the price and has a decent amount of padding in the seats and handle.
The stroller is multi-functional and features three modes. It can be used as a cart (for stuff), Jogger mode (with two 5-point safety belts for kids), or car seat mode. It can accommodate one car seat for infants but pediatricians recommend waiting until your child is six months old before running with them. They should also be 1 year old before letting them run on rough terrain. It comes in black and has a limited lifetime warranty. Jenni Gritters has been a journalist and parent for over 10 years.
