Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or impact when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item upgrader in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several items.
This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item upgrader mod fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will result in lower chances of success.
To determine the height of a structure engineers employ a level to compare the measurement with an established reference point like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to a high degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item level upgrade can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item level upgrade, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.
The game also has a number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character quicker, which enables you to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others are not. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Set items can be upgraded to include special procs that are useful for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
