WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the preview of an item upgrader mod's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Many locations offer item level upgrade [Suggested Studying] upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will cost less even in the event that they belong to another set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
