Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the item upgrade's kind. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will result in lower chances of success.
Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game that can improve an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in rare cases.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an Best item upgrader determines the level of filling.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you would get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be a good or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a good method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.
Certain set items are upgraded for their unique procs, which can be particularly useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense of armor that has a newer appearance.
