Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Typically objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or impact when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to an item upgrader kit that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

If an Best item upgrader is finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes for it, whereas a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests, depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC gives players the option to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material but will result in lower chances of success.

Engineers employ a level to measure the height of the building with a known point, such as a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial element of the game that can improve the damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that increases the item upgrader mod's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also has a number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an item. This is a good method to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons do not boost the quality of the item's stats when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to the level of the different tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
