WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrade (please click the next document) upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from a different set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can use Flightstones which are a common upgrade currency that is accessible to all players, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades at specific item levels. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader kit upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
