WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item upgrades by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item upgrading is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item level upgrade (please click the next web page) used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade item is reduced and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
