WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The Item Level Upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade item gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items come from another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item upgrader kit that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they only have one use. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrader gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
