WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which displays a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current Item level upgrade level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item upgrader kit has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items are from another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
