In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the Best item upgrade ways to improve your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your items.
Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor more effective. They can be found through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them or by using a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed by removing them from the item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded, however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can be forged to give extra bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the upgrade chances of its target, and boost upgrades increase the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded with that component. Organic components, like have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has the maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon with the tier 10. However, the most popular upgrade for weapons is an tier 6 weapon as well as a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades the stats of the primary one will be increased a bit further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their normal base. Upgrades can be a great way to improve the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to remember that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If the item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to 0. The same power dies are used to roll an item, just as it would be used to upgrade it. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled one time with the same materials as original item.
Rerolling
If the player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can reroll any item that they've accumulated during the game. If an upgraded item upgrader kit is rerolled, it will be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens are available in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item will have the same bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will be different.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as changing it's roll by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification as a weapon to armor, or reverse it. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item kind. Each step will add 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can boost the capability of an item, but they also decrease the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrades to reach their full potential. A player may want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) to discover what it could become.
The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only options are to spend real cash or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can choose to level up the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was designed to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but as the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes too old. It's also not worthwhile to level items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the level of the item. The cost of upgrades will vary based on weapons and armor and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template shows the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and it also lists the current ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For instance an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.
The item will get upgrades to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damages, and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item receives when it is leveled can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Apart from the equipment for practice, all items and armor get the same stats when they are upgraded. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as circlets or tiaras.
