Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will show you how to upp your gear effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants an additional bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales based on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that contains the components or through salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked in order to increase the level of experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be forged for additional bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and boost upgrades increase the defense or attack capabilities of the weapon.
You can attach an upgrade items template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item receives when it is upgraded by that component. Organic components, for example, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore Best item upgrader to upgrade using organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next rank of equipment or weapon, and then change to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they can receive. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a set of items that share the same bonus. Each item upgrader kit in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades the stats of the primary one will be boosted a little more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item with an additional stats will be increased randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which could be important for some builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If you're upgrading an item with an added bonus it can be rerolled once, and its guarantee will reset to 0. The same amount of power die is used to reroll an item, just as it is used to upgrade it. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item level upgrade you will require the required amount of Minerals and Erons, as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled one time with the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
If a player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can play rerolling any item they've acquired during the game. If an item level upgrade is rerolled, it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will differ too.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also change the identification of any equipment by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who are wearing the gear.
The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipped equipment. This is done by talking to an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.
An upgrade can make it more powerful however, it can also lower its quality. It is therefore important to find a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrading to make them more effective. For example an individual player may wish to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can be.
The primary reason people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they are trying to get a specific character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only alternatives are to invest money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was designed to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets old enough. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets, as the power of the gem will outweigh any increment in ilvl.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will display the template for the item, its Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item level. Armor and weapons will have different prices, with the latter typically being more costly. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating. The increases are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item receives as it gets leveled up can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Apart from the practice equipment, all other items and armor get these same stats when upgraded. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor able to command much higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. Similar is the case for other pieces of armor like tiaras and circlets.
