A robot cleaner commercial intelligent vacuum cleaner can keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only once in a while.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves this is an option essential for families with pets or children. Many of the best robot vacuum under 200 performers in our tests have great obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free house cleaning robot experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot when it is full.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they're very adept in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top Rated Robot Vacuum-rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities, so it may get stuck on things like socks or power cords and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions like hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes clearing out any toys or clutter it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes around three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or by voice.
In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to match the task being performed. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.
This model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments as well as a handheld. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons models, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average not an extraordinary time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to sweep the typical home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second pass generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a great choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it often goes over the same areas many times to get a really thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice touch.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and performs better on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. It's easy to understand and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than some of the other models we tried which could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying to keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for hard flooring. They come with a wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than competitors to keep the area clean for the longest time. They also include two side sweepers that can be used to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense which adjusts the power level based on whether it is cleaning up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. It also comes with a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and control functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging with the press of a single button. The app also allows you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors, so that you can easily identify the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot if needed. My living room rug, for example, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
