Bedside Sleeper Cot

A bedside cot used sleeper cot (also called a bassinet) is attached to the side of your bed to ensure that your baby is close enough for feeding at night, but is safe in their own space to sleep. Our mums love that they are easy to reach and can also swivel or lower the sides to be closer.

Safety

A bedside sleeper cot permits babies to be within reach of their parents' beds for nighttime feeding, comforting and monitoring without putting them at risk with sharing beds (which could lead to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). In 2023, ASTM updated its version of the bedside sleeper's voluntary standard F2906 in response to newer models that convert the bassinet into a bedside sleeper, by lowering one side rail to an adult bed, allowing some areas of the lower portion to be elevated level above the mattress, presenting an increased risk of the entrapment of. The CPSC's direct final rule incorporates by reference this 2023 revision of the mandatory standard in section 104 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) for durable infant or toddler products that have been used for more than 180 days. It is expected to reduce the chance of injuries.

Be aware that a bassinet or bedside baby bed sleeper, should not be used in combination with blankets or pillows.
