What is a bedside cot?
A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or co-sleeper, is a small baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your baby to sleep next to you in peace. It is a safe method of co-sleeping and doesn't increase the risk of SIDS as bedsharing does. It also helps you bond with the newborn baby.
They usually have a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your infant throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly helpful for mothers who are recovering from a c-section. Many are also portable or foldable, so you can take them on trips and use them as a temporary sleeping option for babies who aren't ready to transition to a full-sized cot.
When you are looking for a bedside sleeper cot crib Choose a crib with a breathable mattress and a protective cover to shield your baby from the stains. You might also want to buy baby-safe accessories such as an infant blanket or a teether.
If you're looking for a long-term alternative, some cribs are equipped with conversion kits that allow you to turn them into a cot, or a toddler bed at the time of need. This is a great way to extend their lifespan and making the transition more seamless. Some models have a removable portion at the top that can be converted into a bassinet. Some can be used in conjunction with a regular adult bed or a high-rise one. This is a great option for families who are planning to travel frequently or switch between bedrooms at night. Be aware of the dimensions of your bedroom to ensure that you be able to fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with an riser that can be used to create an inclined position for babies who suffer from reflux.

This is a great choice for parents who want to co-sleep, but don't wish to share their bed. If one of the partners has mobility issues like back pain or arthritis. Our mom testers loved that they could easily access their baby while in the Iora and that it came with an optional reflux incline that helped reduce gas.
