Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upp your gear effectively.

Upgrading equipment grants an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

The primary function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged for additional benefits. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the chances of upgrading its target, while the boost upgrade can enhance the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a different experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item gets when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For instance, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.

Sets

A set is a group of items which share the benefit of. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade boosts the bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be enhanced even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which can be important for some builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater defense level than their base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.

If the item upgrader you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled a few times, and then its guarantee will reset to 0. The same amount of power die is used to roll an item upgrades as it is used to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrades can be completed through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and are available for purchase with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

If players have enough tokens for rerolling, they can play rerolling any item they've acquired during the game. When an upgraded item gets rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent version at a level 1 of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for small amounts of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new upgraded item upgrader mod will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however its stats will be different also.

In addition to rerolling objects, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and the attributes it requires. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that are wearing the gear.

Players can also boost the level of an item equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. For weapons, each step will add 5% to its damage.

Upgrades can boost the power of an item, but they can also reduce the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded in order to reach their potential. For example one player might wish to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can become.

The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to get a specific weapon or character that they can't otherwise obtain. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods do not always want to play ball. The only alternatives are to invest money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe this feature was designed to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, as most equipment is replaced quickly and can only be leveled up to a certain level, you will typically replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

You will be presented with a small box when you click on the upgrade option for an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on weapons and armor, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance the weapon that has an 8% upgrade decrease will reduce its count by 8-8%.

In addition to the base ilvl boost the item will also be upgraded in other stats like critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block and parry rating. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade item (click) template you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will suffer when it is upgraded. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor apart from practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. Similar is the case for other armor pieces, like tiaras and circlets.
