GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, greenpower mobility (www.tianxiaputao.com) and it is able to be adapted to suit a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows the best battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity resulting in better payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one wall structure inside and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks allow for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission transport of passengers or goods.

GreenPower has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to easily change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.

We were able to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours, and found it easy to drive and comfortable to drive over long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode is a great way to increase the green power as well as cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for anyone that has never driven an power electric scooter vehicle before.

GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles which include a multi-purpose electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit vanpool, bus, or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants. Check back when we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later this year. We will be sharing more details on this exciting EV.
