WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the Item level upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item upgrades, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
