Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the Best item upgrader in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item upgrader mod in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

If an item is leveled out, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will employ a level to measure the height of the building to an established point, like an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an Best item upgrader's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a negative thing depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrade could have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chance of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an unit. This is a good way to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to create a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can have various sizes, have none at all, or have a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have many armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to the level of the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when fully updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
